I Love You means-Everlasting-Unfailing Love-Jeremiah 31:3
“I Love You”
So, yesterday evening while I was working on this blog. My hubby hovers over my shoulder to look at the screen and is like are you working on that again?…umm, chuckled and say, Yes. He turns to walk away. Then as he starts to walk away, he stops looks over at me and sweetly says: “Aurie, I Love You.” I responded back with I love you too, and kept working on the site.
Later while in bed and trying to go to sleep, for some reason I remembered what he said. But it was not the words themselves that I was pondering on. We say “I love you” all the time. It was more about the way he said it, there was something different in his tone. I heard the love, sweetness, tenderness, and vulnerability in his voice that I had not heard or recognized in a long while.
Although, Jeff was sleeping I scooted over towards his side of the bed snuggling close to him. As I tried to fall asleep, I thought about how many times a day we go without really expressing our love for one another. How very easy it is to get caught up with the busyness of life, work, commute, family and other nonsense.
When God says, “I Love You”
A new morning and a new day. I am at work, and all throughout the day I hear the words gently echoing “Aurie, I Love You.” A smile comes over my heart as I know that it is God who is whispering those same words into my ears. Oh, man talk about tears…tears of great joy. Gods voice is always recognizable. His tone always soft, gentle and loving. His love is always perfect, unconditional and unfailing.
Jeremiah 31:3 –Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.
The truth is that I have to be in constant prayer over my marriage, my husband, and our relationship. Because love is not a feeling, or an emotion. It is a constant choice to love my husband especially in those moments that are not easy and difficult. Reminding myself of that everlasting and unfailing love that God demonstrates to me everyday.
My Sweet Faithful Truths –
“I Love You” don’t just say it! mean it from the deepest depths of my heart.
